With the timer mechanic, the player decides whether they want to continue their search and risk their current gems for a higher score. The player may find the exit, but it’s their decision to escape.

The player has the option to camp levels, but future levels will be significantly harder because of the elapsed time. For example, if enough time has elapsed in the first level, it can become as difficult to beat as the last level in a run where the player speed-runs to the end.

The player decides how much they want to upgrade each time they visit the shop. Saving gems will give you a higher score, but will also make progression more difficult.
